ergh. am going to see my grandparents today. yuck yuck yuck yuck yuck.

feel sorry for myself. slightly nauseous, and am having trouble getting used to teeth, thus am also hungry.

am packing like mad. disputes this morning about bedding, towels and washing clothes. wall looks unbearably empty without yoda or star chart. also taken down ships and arrow. my sister is hinting that i should mention her wonderful role in said packing - she swapped some eclairs for soft liquorice that i could eat, and read me strange random stories while persuading me to get rid of *extremely* cute pictures of all and sundry.

slept downstairs after liberal coating of dust was applied to my mattress while taking down the glow-in-the-dark stars from ceiling. also little bits of plaster, ceiling, paint, blue tack and paper. am sitting wearing not-a-lot after coating of moisturiser on sunburn.

for those of you who don't know, camping was great fun, but i sauntered sideways into a brick pillar, and the consequent graze was coated in brine, chlorine and sun tan lotion(has now gone green). i burst many blisters walking into sea - then washed them in briney sea water(yeouch).  When in sea, I recieved a frisbee to the eye (thank you Emma T!) which has now got a graze and a slight bump. Also recieved lovely sunburn despite copious suncream-  especially painful on wrists and shoulders so had lots of fun sleeping on roll mat.  To crown it all, I had a brief liason with the bottom of the swimming pool which resulted in a chipped tooth and split lip (have since gone to slough to have tooth repaired, lip still spilt).

Apart from that, great fun, especially Julia's imaginative map reading which involve not a lot of map and rather a lot of "Errrr,  What...Go Left...I guess" !

finish later

continuing:

said map reading brought us a lovely, if rather prolonged view of the new forest with many scenic views. in other words, we spent our entire time not-quite-sure where we were. much hilarity was had by me and emma in the back. especially when it took us a couple of hours to drive a relatively short distance, and ended with us missing pub dinner times, not finding the supermarket, and cooking in dark. hmmm.
